Never really gone

from Zeroland (part I) by GLEAM

«Our smile freezes after this encounter, it lies down at the center of Earth Zero, on remembrance, that memory so much ours and so reliable, not in terms of accuracy but because of its availability, as any favour amazingly for sale. Supported by the winds of this land and by a bass guitar that wants to jump with the thoughtlessness of the largest primate in the forest, we whisper with beings of various biologies, which have now disappeared from us and have left a void that only the spell of memory struggles to fill. A fight which is detectable between the physiology of remote and buried memory that wants to fade into nothing, into a soothing zero, and the mental and emotional need for a full, accurate, reliable, conspiratorial, loving and beloved, sometimes abused and never worn, recollection. There is this memory in turmoil and in abandonment, supported on a rising tide by generous synthesizers and by the rest of the musical armament, with a little shame and some blush, that always do good to those who want to play and even better to those who know how to play;
This song is about those who no longer are and it’s entitled "Never really gone"»

when you return i will
stop casting these cruelties at you
just flashes in my head
all features of you i have left

memories are mine
as well as they are yours forever, mine forever
can’t think of someone else
to relive moments of our private past

that’s where you stand
amongst all life’s good things
that’s where you’ll land
once you find your wings are wide enough
your wings are wide enough
your warmth still by my side, where
memories are mine and yours forever
memories are yours and mine forever

twenty years ago…
twenty years ago!
you’re never really gone
(hey! stay!)
